Oval pressure manway - features

Oval pressure manway is most often installed in the side wall of the tank, but there are also versions that are suitable for installation in the roof (top of the tank). Most often, due to the place of installation (the side of the tank), oval manways are equipped with an inward opening cover. In the case of stainless steel oval manways, the basic construction material is AISI 304/304L grade steel, but for applications requiring greater resistance to chemical factors, pressure manways are manufactured from AISI 316/316L grade steel.

 

Oval pressure manways meet the criteria of the Pressure Equipment Directive P.E.D. 2014/68/EU. Each pressure manway is made from materials of verified quality. The proper quality of the materials is confirmed by an certificate, sometimes also by additional tests. A series of tests and trials to which pressure manways are subjected guarantees their reliability. The results of the tests are recorded in a special databook, which is delivered to the user together with the manway.

 

In order for a pressure manway to properly perform its function, it is equipped with a gasket - the selection of the right gasket material depends on the environment in which the manway will operate.
