Industrial stainless steel covers - basic information

A stainless cover is the upper part of a complete manway. Very often, "stainless covers" are also referred to as standard non-pressure manways (which act as a cover for the opening of the tank).

 

Most often, covers are manufactured from AISI 304/304L grade steel. For applications requiring increased resistance to aggressive factors, covers made of acid-resistant steel of AISI 316/316L grade are used. To ensure proper tightness and separation from external conditions, gaskets are placed in the mounting frame or the cover itself.
