Rectangular manway A392

Rectangular manway A392 is a product for special tasks. It responds to the specific needs of technical, repair and maintenance workers.

Often the activity of these services involves being in the closed space of tanks, chambers, pipelines and similar. In all such places, manways are installed to provide safe access to the interior. The dimensions of such manways are based on the requirements included in EN 547-1*. The result is a manway with an opening that can be freely accessed by an adult of average body build. Typically, therefore, manways of this type are not smaller than 600x450 mm.

Model A392 can be used as an inspection manway for large stainless steel tanks and chambers. Tanks, technical chambers and similar, are specific working environments where the risk of potentially dangerous incidents resulting in an accident is increased. In such a situation, the type A392 manway ensures effective and rapid evacuation of personnel. In special cases, when independent evacuation of personnel is not possible, this type of manway facilitates access of emergency services and allows transport of necessary equipment and tools.

Production of the manway is carried out only on an individual order, after agreeing the necessary parameters. There is a lot of flexibility in terms of the size of the manway. Practically, the length of each side of the manway can be in the range from 300 mm to 2000 mm.

As standard, the A392 rectangular manway is equipped with a 60 mm high mounting flange. Tightness is ensured by a silicone gasket and plastic handwheels. It is installed by welding in the side wall of the tank or in its roof.

When planning the use of a manway of type A392 in a specific device, it is necessary to carefully analyze the conditions present in the working environment and the effects of chemical and/or biological factors on the materials used to construct the manway.
