Stainless steel manways AISI 316/316L - features and applications

Manways AISI 316/316L are manufactured from chrome-nickel-molybdenum steel with enhanced corrosion resistance. Depending on the concentration of a particular medium, as well as the temperature and operating pressure, manways of this type are resistant to a number of factors. These include food acids, organic and inorganic acids, as well as saline water and steam.

 

In order for the manway to function properly in the working environment, do not forget to choose the right gasket. It should be made of a material that matches the working medium and the operating temperature.
 

The resistance of AISI 316 and AISI 316L grades causes that manways made from them are used in many industries. Distinguished here can be:

  • industries related to food production,
  • brewing, distilling, beverage and concentrate production,
  • manufacturers of household chemicals and cosmetics,
  • biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries,
  • manufacturers of equipment operating in the marine environment.
