Manway with glass cover series C47 is installed in the roof of stainless steel tanks. The transparent cover, which ensures the possibility of constant visual inspection of the processes taking place in the tank, is an undoubted advantage. What's more, this manway design reduces the frequency of opening the cover, and thus limits the contact of the product with the external environment.
Manways of this type are most commonly found in breweries and distilleries, but they are also successfully used in many other applications. The transparent cover of the C47 circular manway consists of two stainless steel rims, between which a glass sheet protected by a silicone gasket is placed.
Manways are manufactured from stainless steel in AISI 304 or AISI 316. Glass mounted in the cover performs well at temperatures up to +120°C. One more silicone gasket (standard material) of O-ring type is placed in the manway frame. As a result, when the cover is placed and pressed down with handwheels arranged around the edge, a tight and secure closure of the manway is achieved.
