An aseptic manway (or, more precisely, a manway with an aseptic cover) is a type of tank closure used primarily in places where special care is required for hygienic manufacture or storage of products.
A distinctive feature of aseptic manways is the convexity of the cover, as well as its polished finish. Thanks to this design, as well as the extremely smooth surface, liquids do not adhere to the cover. What's more, this solution significantly facilitates the cleaning of manways and prevents dirt from settling on the cover.
Manways with aseptic covers are used both in food industry equipment and in many other fields (including: chemical industry, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals).
Aseptic manways are also commonly installed in the upper part of large capacity tanks, seated outside. Thanks to the convex and smooth cover, in case of unfavorable weather conditions (such as rain), water flows freely from the manway cover and does not pond on the tank.
