Manways for polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP) tanks – general information

Manways for plastic tanks have special, profiled frames (external and internal), which enable the structure to be connected by screws. These types of manways are always manufactured to individual order, as the frame and counter-frame are usually matched to the diameter of the tank, where the manway is to be installed.

Design of manways for plastic tanks

A distinguishing feature of manways designed for mounting in polyethylene tanks is their method of installation. This is due to the fact that they are equipped with two frames:

  • external (permanently attached to the manway door, with screw holes),
  • internal (loose frame, no screw holes as standard).

The manway is assembled by bolting the two parts together, compressing them thoroughly and sealing them.

An important feature of manways for plastic tanks is the fact that they are not serial parts - each piece is produced according to individual requirements (the frame is usually bent to the diameter of the tank according to the supplied parameters).
